  Papau New Guinea is highly vulnerable,  to natural hazards particularly earthquakes, volcanos, and tsunamis. Papau New Guinea has 77 volcanoes, of which 20 are active.  It is one of the most seismatically complex regions on average with over 100 earthqaukes, each year with a magnitude of 5 and over. The country is also prone to Tsunamis having encountered over 90 Tsunamis since 1768. Thousands of lives were lost in the devastating 1998 tsunami, and close to 10,000 people were displaced from their homes.  August 22, 2020 I picked Papua New Guinea, because someone already picked Japan, Taiwan, Canada, I picked Papua New Guinea, because I thought it is a very interesting place, it is a very diverse isolated place, the people are interesting  and fascinating I think. S everal kinds of natural hazard such as  earthquake , tsunamis  are common in Papau New Guinea. Earthquakes, and Tsunamis are frequent in Papau New Guinea, with a notable one killing over 2,000 people in 1998. The  difference between natural disasters and natural hazards is that natural hazards are a natural  process events, that threaten human life and disaster  is an event that threatens humans life with a with a time limit, when you mix them together you get a natural disaster, if it fits one of these criteria   1.
